They may be from rival studios, and feature a whole host of different characters, but fuck it, we’re combining new pics and promo material from “X-Men: Days of Future Past” and “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” into one post because you can bet some studio executives are trying to figure out how to crossover the franchises anyway (even if it’s logistically impossible given the vying business interests involved).
Long story short, two of the most spandex-filled movies of the summer are on the way, and some new snaps have arrived from both. First up, the mutant sequel shows off new images of Mystique, Bishop and Quicksilver and more along with a hilarious shot of Beast and Wolverine. WTF is going on in that picture? And for what’s worth, Bryan Singer describes ‘Future Past’ as “not a conventional sequel—I call it an inbetweequel.” Let’s just hope it’s not just a big, loud and ultimately pointless middle chapter like “The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug,” just to set up “X-Men: Apocalypse.”
Meanwhile, Emma Stone does her thing as Gwen Stacy over at Oscorp, while three more posters for ‘Spider-Man 2’ see our webslinging hero squaring off against Electro.
‘Future Past’ arrives on May 23rd, with Spidey arriving first on May 2nd. [EW/IMPA/Live For Films/Empire]
