Cheeky New ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ ‘Bachelorette’ Ad Shows A New Side To Hugh Jackman

You had to know that the marketing for “Deadpool & Wolverine” was going to be great. Ryan Reynolds has perfected movie marketing, and it’s turned up a notch when he’s promoting a ‘Deadpool’ film. However, the best part about the marketing for the new film is the inclusion of Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine. Who knew that grumpy Hugh Jackman is what Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool really needed to push it over the top?

Typically, we don’t post every little TV ad for a film. They’re basically just smaller trailers with pull-quotes and whatnot. Definitely not very interesting. But we had to give props to Reynolds and Co. for a really funny ad that was shown during ABC’s The Bachelorette.” It perfectly shows off the comedic stylings of both goofball Deadpool and straight man Wolverine. It also allows Reynolds to poke fun at Jackman’s physique in a hilarious way. 

What has made the marketing for “Deadpool & Wolverine” so smart, though, is how it’s highlighting why the film is likely to be hilarious without spoiling anything from the movie. Zooming in on Hugh Jackman’s butt for a ‘Bachelorette’ ad doesn’t give away anything from the movie and showcases the actors involved. It’s really quite clever. 

They’ve also done something similar with the Heineken ad, where Deadpool seemingly stone Wolverine’s claws so that he could make two cans of the beer. While it’s weird to see a superhero film from Marvel Studios promote drinking, it’s really quite silly and fun.
