Got a Tip?

Clive Owen And Sienna Miller To Lead Kim Ji-Woon’s ‘Max And The Junkmen’ Remake?

“The Good, The Bad, The Weird” director Kim Ji-woon is set to helm an English remake of 1971 French noir-heist-thriller “Max Et Les Ferrailleurs” potentially with Clive Owen and Sienna Miller as his leads.

Adopting the translated title of “Max And The Junkmen,” Kim’s take will be his Hollywood debut and will begin shooting this January in Philadelphia. Of the film’s cast, Kim revealed that “nothing has been decided yet, but I was thinking about Clive Owen for the lead detective role, and Sienna Miller for the female protagonist. We’ve been talking and I’ve met Sienna when she came to Korea recently. She seemed interested.”

The film will center on Max, a disillusioned judge who abandons his career and fight crime first hand. Max devises a plan to catch a crook red handed, goes undercover as a banker and befriends a prostitute in order to get into the loop of her criminal boyfriend’s plans.

Kim originally wanted to shoot his script in London but compromised with producers for an American shoot. Philadelphia was eventually chosen as the director felt it could replicate the dreary noir-look of an old European city. [10Asia via Twitch]
