Comic Chatter: Crossbones Is Main Villain In 'Captain America 3,' Russo Bros Rumored For 'Infinity War'

nullIt seems when one Marvel puzzle piece is put in place, several more are added to the rumor pile. Last week, the comic studio announced that Daniel Bruhl had joined the cast of "Captain America: Civil War" in an unspecified role, and while speculation started on what that character might be, several more rumors shook out online.

Over at Deadline, they kept the rumor going that Joe and Anthony Russo, the duo directors behind the Captain America movies, will helm the back-to-back shoot of the pair of "Avengers: Infinity War" films. With Joss Whedon‘s contract coming to an end next year, after his delivery of "Avengers: Age Of Ultron," certainly Marvel will be looking for a new guiding voice for their next phase of films. However, we wouldn’t be surprised if they dump a pile of money at Whedon’s door to keep him involved. Something to keep an eye on, but we’re sure that for now the Russos are focused on ‘Civil War.’

Meanwhile, with Bruhl apparently playing a villain role in the third Captain America movie, it looks like it will be a supporting turn, at least for now. Variety’s Justin Kroll hit Twitter to confirm that Frank Grillo‘s Crossbones will be the main antagonist in ‘Civil War,’ so just something to keep in mind as more news is likely to come as shooting gears up to take place next year.
