In recent years, Yorgos Lanthimos has become one of the most recognizable names in cinema. As the filmmaker behind projects such as “The Favourite,” “The Killing of a Sacred Deer,” and “The Lobster,” Lanthimos has continued to wow audiences with his unique style and tone. And for subscribers of The Criterion Channel streaming service, they’ll have a chance to stream his first solo directorial effort, “Kinetta,” starting tomorrow.

According to Criterion, Lanthimos’ film, “Kinetta,” will begin its exclusive streaming run on Criterion Channel beginning on April 2. The 2005 film finds the filmmaker utilizing his talent for mixing genres and plenty of dark comedy in a film that follows the intersecting lives of multiple people in a desolate Greek resort town. The film stars Evangelia Randou, Aris Servetalis, and Costas Xikominos. The script was co-written by Lanthimos and Yorgos Kakanakis.
In addition to “Kinetta,” Criterion is also going to have two more Lanthimos films available to stream, “Dogtooth” and “Alps.”

Here’s the synopsis for the film:
The first feature for which celebrated international auteur Yorgos Lanthimos received solo directorial credit, Kinetta takes place in a desolate Greek resort town where three tenuously connected people are linked by mysterious, unsettling impulses. A plainclothes cop pursues triple passions for cars, tape recorders, and Russian women; a lonely, lovesick clerk works as a part-time photographer; and a hotel maid aspires to be an actor through unconventional methods. Darkly comic and insinuatingly hypnotic, this tantalizingly cryptic puzzle film finds Lanthimos first working through the themes of power and control that he would explore to increasing renown in art-house sensations like Dogtooth, The Lobster, and The Favourite.
