Who needs an agent when you have Twitter? If you’re Dave Bautista and you want to pitch an idea for an action film co-starring Jason Momoa, why not just throw that out onto social media and see what happens? It might just work.

Recently, Dave Bautista decided to do put it out in the universe (on Twitter) that he is interested in collaborating with his “Dune” co-star Jason Momoa on a “Lethal Weapon”-style buddy-cop film directed by David Leitch. This idea took off and became instantly viral. And according to a new interview with Jason Momoa, it appears the project might actually happen, and it wasn’t just some silly tweet.

“He literally texted me about four days ago going, ‘We need to do a buddy-cop film,’” Momoa said on “The Late Late Show.” “I said, ‘Absolutely!’ He said, ‘Let’s do it in Hawaii.’ I said, ‘Let’s do it! I’ve got an idea.’ So it’s off to the races now, we’re doing it.”

He added, “It sells itself, bro…Dave loves wearing Speedos. I love wearing board shorts. And both of us with our shirts off. Buddy-cop film. He’ll be grumpy and I’ll be charming. Boom. It sells itself, bro. I have the hair. He doesn’t have hair. We cover all the demographics.”

Typically, you would see this as a big joke from Momoa and Bautista. But given their friendship and the fact they’ve worked together on “Dune” and the Apple TV+ series, “See,” it makes sense they’d keep that going. Also, what studio wouldn’t give them a healthy budget to make that film happen? It definitely sounds like something Netflix would gladly bankroll.

And as a fan of ‘80s buddy-cop films, this is music to my ears. Let’s make it happen!
