**Spoiler Warning – This article spoils multiple cameos in “Deadpool & Wolverine.” You’ve been warned.**
One of the best aspects of “Deadpool & Wolverine” is how the cameos are more than just simple gags. The people who show up in the film with cameos actually are given things to do. And two perfect examples of that are Channing Tatum’s Gambit and Wesley Snipes’ Blade. And both are now publicly talking about their inclusion in the superhero film.
In a social media post, Channing Tatum talked about the long road to finally getting to play Gambit on the big screen. For those unaware, before Disney bought Fox, Tatum was announced as playing Gambit in a feature film. However, the project stalled in development, losing director after director. It seemed as if the film was cursed.

“I thought I had lost Gambit forever,” wrote Tatum. “But [Ryan Reynolds] fought for me and Gambit. I will owe him probably forever. Cause I’m not sure how I could ever do something that would be equal to what this has meant to me. I love ya buddy.”
He added, “All things happen for a reason. I’m so grateful to be in this movie. It’s a masterpiece in my opinion. And just pure badass joy. I was literally screaming in the theater. LFG!!”
Clearly, Tatum is jazzed about being Gambit finally. Not only that, he has a substantial role in the film, which is just icing on the cake.
As for Snipes, he didn’t think a Blade return was possible. But then again, Ryan Reynolds came calling.
“I did not think it was possible,” Snipes said (via EW). “I didn’t think we would be able to pull it off. I didn’t think that Marvel was into it, Disney was into it — also because they had Mahershala cast for the next upcoming version of it.”

He added, “I thought it didn’t make sense to me, but [when] you get a call from Ryan Reynolds out of the blue after 20 years, you go, ‘Okay, I got to take this call. Let’s see what this is about. He told me the idea… They said ‘yes’ and ‘it’s a go.’ ‘If you’re in, we’re in.’ Here we are.”
Much like Tatum’s Gambit, Snipes’ Blade has a significant role in “Deadpool & Wolverine.” He gets to finally play Blade in a comic book film surrounded by other superheroes. It’s pretty incredible.
You can watch Tatum and Snipes in “Deadpool & Wolverine” in theaters now.
These pictures are almost 10 years apart to the day. I sat in the audience when Ryan Reynolds showed his first peek of Deadpool 1 to the world and I think I ran back stage right after and found him and I think I just hugged him and was like holy shit you did it man. It’s perfect.… pic.twitter.com/B5viY2f7nl
