'Devil In Ohio' Trailer: Emily Deschanel Stars In New Netflix Thriller Series About A Satanic Cult

Satanic cults are the worst. We can all agree on that, right? Especially when they send a pretty young blonde girl out into the world as a way to further spread their message. The proof is in the upcoming Netflix thriller series, “Devil in Ohio.”

As seen in the trailer, “Devil in Ohio” follows the story of a psychiatrist who invites a young woman into her home after she escapes from a mysterious cult. Obviously, as a former cult member, the young woman has issues and trauma to work through, but things start to go south when it is shown that maybe she’s not much of an escapee and more of a prized member sent out into the greater world to spread her darkness. Dun, dun, dunnnnnnn.

The cast for the new series includes Emily Deschanel, Madeleine Arthur, Sam Jaeger, Gerardo Celasco, Xaria Dotson, Alisha Newton, and Naomi Tan. In an interesting development, “Devil in Ohio” is actually based on a novel by Daria Polatin, who is also the creator-showrunner-writer of the eight-episode miniseries. It’s not often you see the author of the source material have such a hands-on approach to the TV adaptation.

“Devil in Ohio” debuts on Netflix on September 2. You can watch the trailer below.
