Eddie Alcazar’s latest movie, “Divinity,” premiered at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year and had many varied, sometimes puzzled, but dazzled, reactions. Alcazar is no stranger to giving viewers unique moviegoing experiences, and it seems like “Divinity” will be his most ambitious piece of work yet. Alcazar is a director, writer, producer, and game developer. Unbothered by genre constraints, his multi-technique approach to visual storytelling explores undiscovered cinematic territories. He coined “Meta-Scope” to describe a visionary technique that blends live-action and stop-motion.
Two months after its festival premiere, Utopia acquired worldwide distribution rights for the film, which will enter movie theaters this October.

Written and directed by Alcazar, “the movie “Divinity” stars Bella Thorne, Stephen Dorff, Scott Bakula, Moises Arias, Jason Genao, and Michael O’Hearn.
Here is the plot synopsis:
“Set in an otherworldly human existence, scientist Sterling Pierce (Scott Bakula) dedicated his life to the quest for immortality, slowly creating the building blocks of a groundbreaking serum named “Divinity.” Jaxxon Pierce (Stephen Dorff), his son, now controls and manufactures his father’s once-benevolent dream. Society on this barren planet has been entirely perverted by the supremacy of the drug, whose true origins are shrouded in mystery. Two mysterious brothers (Moises Arias and Jason Genao) arrive with a plan to abduct the mogul, and with the help of a seductive woman named Nikita (Karrueche Tran), they will be set on a path hurtling toward true immortality.”
Produced by Alcazar, Steven Soderbergh, Javier Lovato, Raphael Gindre, and Johnny Starke, the movie will be released exclusively in theaters on October 13. Watch the trailer below.
