After the box office success of “Dune: Part Two” earlier this year, it’s a matter of when, not if, Denis Villeneuve completes his planned filmic triptych with a “Dune: Messiah” adaptation. But fans of Frank Herbert‘s original novel know that “Messiah” jumps ahead in time a bit before its events unfold. That means Villeneuve ideally must wait for Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya & co. to age some and do another project or two in the interim.

But fear not, “Dune” heads: Warner Bros. and HBO have another Arrakis-set tale ready for audiences soon. How soon? Soon enough for the studio and network to show off a new “Dune: Prophecy” trailer at New York Comic-Con today. Inspired by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson‘s novel “Sisterhood Of Dune,” the prequel series takes place 10,000 years before the events of Villeneuve’s “Dune” films and follows the origin of the fearsome and influential Bene Gesserit.
Here’s an official synopsis for “Dune: Prophecy,” courtesy of HBO:
