The Wrap reports that The Rock is in negotiations to star in and produce a remake of "Big Trouble In Little China." John Carpenter‘s 1986 Kurt Russell starring movie is a big cult favorite for many, including Johnson, who is a big fan, hence the do over. And given the credits of hired screenwriters Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz, who have paired up on "Thor" and "X-Men: First Class," this version will make the tale about a trucker who winds up in an adventure in San Francisco’s Chinatown.

No word yet on when this might shoot, but if HBO‘s "Ballers" continues The Rock’s run of success, we could see Fox very eager to make it happen soon.
