Dean Parisot of “Fun With Dick And Jane” fame is set to direct the Ed Helms comedy vehicle “Central Intelligence” for Universal which will see the actor portray an accountant who is plunged into the world of international espionage after he reconnects with an old friend via Facebook.
Following from his success in “The Hangover,” studios are hoping this will be first of many leading roles for Helms with a “Daily Show”-to-leading-man path taken by his “The Office” co-star Steve Carrell as the ideal model. The actor also has Miguel Arteta’s “Cedar Rapids” which should hit theaters this year, an untitled civil-war-reenactment project and a sequel to “The Hangover” in the works.
A summer shoot for ‘Central Intelligence” is being targeted.
