Got a Tip?

‘El Camino’ Trailer: Jesse Pinkman Finds Old Friends While On The Run In The ‘Breaking Bad’ Sequel Film

What’s next for Jesse Pinkman? That’s the question that many “Breaking Bad” fans had at the end of the series, as the character was seen barely escaping captivity and seemingly driving off into the sunset to live the rest of his life. And apparently, it’s a question that not only lingered in the minds of fans but also with series creator Vince Gilligan, who decided to provide an answer in the upcoming “El Camino.”

As seen in the first full trailer for “El Camino,” what immediately happened to Jesse is that he ran to his best friends, Badger and Skinny Pete. Disheveled and traumatized, Pinkman tries to get back to his old self with a fresh buzzcut and some clothes. However, as the trailer shows, that’s just the beginning, as the character is now the subject of a massive manhunt, as the only survivor of a huge shootout that ended with almost a dozen dead bodies.

There’s not much that is explicitly shown in the trailer, as it really does just give a mood for “El Camino,” without shedding too much light on the plot. But what is readily apparent is that the answer to the above question isn’t as simple as some fans hoped. When Jesse Pinkman drove off in the “Breaking Bad” finale, many hoped that it signaled a happy ending for the character. That he would just drive off and keep driving until he was in Mexico or somewhere safe. Well, even without knowing the plot of “El Camino,” it’s clear that Pinkman’s story is far more complicated than the happy ending many hoped.

“El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie” arrives in select theaters and on Netflix on October 11.

Here’s the synopsis:

The Netflix Television Event EL CAMINO: A BREAKING BAD MOVIE reunites fans with Jesse Pinkman (Emmy-winner Aaron Paul). In the wake of his dramatic escape from captivity, Jesse must come to terms with his past in order to forge some kind of future.
