De facto leader of the Wu-Tang Clan and current king of inventive film scores, The RZA, is ready to take the step to movie-making director. As previously noted, his debut feature will be an inventive martial arts films titled, “The Man with the Iron Fist,” that he’s developing with torture porn fauxter, Eli Roth.
CHUD spoke to Roth about the project recently and the director had nothing but praise for the the hip-hop visionary turned filmmaker. “RZA’s script is amazing,” he said noting that the Wu Tang Abbott has been schooling under the aegis of Sensei Quentin Tarantino-San and said a similar, self-congratulatory modern B-movie far-too-long in length will likely semi-entertain audiences in the near future. “He has been studying directing with Tarantino for years, and he’s really ready to get behind the camera. [He’s] ready to add his own unique style and vision to the world of film.”
This vision will apparently not be for children or the squeamish. “[It’ll have] everything martial arts fans could want,” Roth said, adding that the movie will be R-Rated. “Yes, there will be blood. A bonafide martial arts aficionado, and keeping in mind the revolutionary sound he already brought hip hop via Wu-Tang, RZA’s film might be worth keeping your eyes open for.
