Starring Regina Casé, Camila Márdila, Karine Teles, Lourenço Mutarelli, Michel Joelsas, and Helena Albergaria, the Sao Paulo-set story follows hard-working live-in housekeeper Val, who is perfectly content to take care of every one of her wealthy employers’ needs, from cooking and cleaning to being a surrogate mother to their teenage son, who she has raised since he was a toddler. But when Val’s estranged daughter, Jessica, suddenly shows up, the unspoken but intrinsic class barriers that exist within the home are thrown into disarray. However, in this scene, we see Val become quietly involved in argument that arises when the son of her employers find pot in the house.

"The Second Mother" opens on August 28th. Watch below.
