We’ve been talking quite a bit this week about Roy Andersson‘s "A Pigeon Sat On A Branch Reflecting On Existence" as it prepares to open in limited release this weekend. The picture landed on our 20 Best Films Of 2015 So Far feature, and we sat down for indepth interview with the director. And to take you one more step to get you ready for the movie, today we have an exclusive clip.
As the Swedish arthouse movie heads stateside, it has picked up the support of two major filmmakers: Alejandro G. Iñárritu and Darren Aronofsky. They are officially presenting ‘Pigeon’ for its U.S. release and had this to say about the movie in a statement: "Every stroke of Roy Andersson’s cinema is a wonderful sonic canvas that reveals our fragile humanity. It has a unique pace, vision and imagination without losing the beauty of the realism that surrounds it." But what they don’t mention is that the movie is also very funny, in Andersson’s distinctly dry way, which you’ll see in this clip as two salesman make a pitch for their novelty items.
