Forget ‘Face/Off,’ These Are The ’90s Action Films That Deserve A Do-Over [The Playlist Podcast]

Action films from the ‘90s are an interesting breed. Some are glorious. Others are downright horrible. But, boy, oh boy, did they sure love VR, pastel colors, and martial arts. And now that Hollywood has decided to go ahead and make an ill-advised sequel to “Face/Off,” without actors John Travolta and Nicolas Cage, the guys from The Playlist Podcast have a few ideas for films from the ‘90s that are ripe for remakes, sequels, or reboots.

As mentioned, last week, it was announced that Adam Wingard would be the director of a new “Face/Off” film, which won’t include the two original stars. Obviously, Charles, Mike, and Brian take issue with this news, as “Face/Off” purists and devotees. Instead, each of them has picked a ‘90s action film that isn’t great but had a fun enough premise that it should be resurrected.
