According to Deadline, Michael Bay is going to direct “Fast and Loose,” a new Netflix action film that is expected to star Will Smith. The report claims the film tells the story of a man who wakes up in Mexico with no memories. However, over time, he realizes that he’s been living a double life, as a CIA agent and a crime boss. While a production start date isn’t known at this time, “Fast and Loose” is expected to be the next project that both Michael Bay and Will Smith work on.

As mentioned, “Fast and Loose” is a reteaming of Bay and Smith. They previously worked on the first two “Bad Boys” films together. And with the two most recent “Bad Boys” films doing great box office and earning decent reviews, it’s clear that Netflix is willing to do whatever Will Smith wants to do next.

Bay has most recently worked on films such as “Ambulance” and “6 Underground.” The latter of which is an action film that did pretty well on Netflix several years ago. Bay is probably best known for his run of action films in the ‘90s and ‘00s. Films like “The Rock,” “Armageddon,” and the two ‘Bad Boys’ installments are all beloved by action fans. However, in the mid-‘00s up to 2017, Bay was knee deep in “Transformers,” which limited what else he could work on.

Again, it’s too early to know when we might see “Fast and Loose” come to Netflix, but you have to assume a 2025 start date on filming is most likely, which would lead to a 2026 debut.
