First Look: Emma Watson In Disney's Live-Action 'Beauty And The Beast'

For those who still feel their childhoods threatened by Disney remaking past classics and hits, it’s probably time to get over it. The studio will keep doing what they’re doing, audiences don’t really seem to mind, and the new movies don’t erase the old ones. All this is to say that next year, “Beauty And The Beast” will be coming, bringing a new live-action take on the studio’s animated gem. And we now have our first look at Emma Watson as the titular beauty, and CGI-ed Dan Stevens as the Beast.

Joined by Luke Evans, Kevin Kline, Josh Gad, Ewan McGregor, Stanley Tucci, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Audra McDonald, Ian McKellen, and Emma Thompson, with Bill Condon directing, the film brings back all your old faves in a new big-screen spectacle. Here’s the official synopsis:

Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” is a live-action re-telling of the studio’s animated classic which refashions the classic characters from the tale as old as time for a contemporary audience, staying true to the original music while updating the score with several new songs. “Beauty and the Beast” is the fantastic journey of Belle, a bright, beautiful and independent young woman who is taken prisoner by a beast in his castle. Despite her fears, she befriends the castle’s enchanted staff and learns to look beyond the Beast’s hideous exterior and realize the kind heart and soul of the true Prince within.
