First Look: Russell Crowe As 'Robin Hood,' Fox Atomic Shutters, Matt Damon Was Almost Kirk Once In 'Star Trek'

Here’s the first glimpse at Russell Crowe as the Prince Of Thieves in Ridley Scott’s Untitled Robin Hood Film. Looks like we can all sleep soundly now knowing that Crowe isn’t carrying on any of the scruffiness and weight from his previous effort “Body Of Lies” and “State Of Play.” [USA Today]

Fox have shut down their teen-friendly division Fox Atomic. Atomic’s releases this year will now find new homes with “I Love You Beth Cooper” and “Jennifer’s Body” moving the 20th Century Fox and “Post-Grad” joining the ranks at Fox Searchlight. The division’s closure also means the Danny Boyle-produced (possibly helmed?) “28 Months Later” will most likely move to the 20th Century proper. Fingers crossed Fox don’t f- up the release of “Jennifer’s Body.” [Nikki Finke]

Toby Kebbel has jumped on board Disney’s “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice.” He joins Nicholas Cage, Jay Baruchel, Teresa Palmer and Alfred Molina and will play a celebrity illusionist ala Criss Angel. [Variety]

Director J.J. Abrams on past talks of Matt Damon playing Captain James T. Kirk: “I actually approached Matt and we had some discussions, but everything happens for a reason. On the one hand, it would have been great to work with Matt – but at the end of the day, it was such a better move to cast the movie with unknowns. Not because it is fun to discover the stars of tomorrow, but even more so, just like with the first “Star Wars”, you didn’t know who those people were when you saw the movie. You believed that guy was Luke Skywalker.” Hmm, not sure if Trekkies will be happy with Abrams’ “Star Wars” references which seem to pop up in almost every interview. [Life/Moviehole]

A behind-the-scenes clip from the Kristen Bell/Josh Duhamel film “When In Rome” has previewed cameos from Danny Devito, Dax Shepherd, Will Arnett and Jon Heder. Like Kebbell, Heder also plays a illusionist ala Criss Angel – all these mock characters might actually make that cheese dick think he’s relevant or not a laughable joke. [ComingSoon]

Columbus Short has joined the cast of “The Losers,” a comic-book adaptation about a group of rogue black-ops seeking vengeance. Previously announced cast members include Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Idris Elba and Zoe Saldana with Sylvain White is set to direct. [THR]

Want some half-naked dubious-quality screencaps of Jessica Biel from the stripper film, “Power Blue”? This guy has some. Don’t expect them to be up for long though. Also, them nipples are NSFW.

A preview clip of Cheryl Hines’ (TV’s “Curb Your Enthusiasm”) directorial debut has been released. “Serious Moonlight” stars Meg Ryan, Kristen Bell, Timothy Hutton and Justin Long and follows the story of a high-powered attorney who duct tapes her husband onto a toilet in an attempt to stop him from leaving her for a younger woman only for complications to arise when the house is burgled. The script was written by Hines’ friend, writer/filmmaker/ actress Adrienne Shelly who directed the ‘Curb’ star in “Waitress” before she was murdered last year. [Myspace]
