Shot in damn near-complete secrecy and announced to the world as part of last year’s TIFF line-up, Noah Baumbach’s newest film “Frances Ha” hits theaters later this year and a new poster and clip have arrived online.
First up, via EW, is a real short clip featuring Greta Gerwig, who also co-wrote the film, as the titular character, “a 27-year-old aspiring dancer in Brooklyn whose life has failed to take off since graduating from Vassar.” The clip is under thirty seconds and gives a quick taste of the low-key charms — and black-and-white cinematography courtesy of Sam Levy — of the film. A new poster has also been released, which takes a previously released still from the film and turns it pink. It’s a simple, yet striking image for the comedy. “Frances Ha” dances into theatres in limited release on May 17th.
