‘Fitting In’ Trailer: Maddie Ziegler & D’Pharoah Woon-A-Tai Star In A Coming-Of-Age “Traumedy”

Growing up is hard, but growing up with MRKH syndrome (a rare reproductive condition that causes an underdeveloped uterus) is bloody hell. That’s the premise of upcoming coming-of-age movie “Fitting In” tackles, where Maddie Ziegler‘s teen Lindy discovers she has the condition, and it makes everything — be it her body, her sexual identity, her relationship with her mom — that much more complicated.

Here’s an official synopsis for “Fitting In,” courtesy of SXSW:

Fitting In is a coming-of-age “traumedy” that follows 16-year-old Lindy who is unexpectedly diagnosed with a reproductive condition, MRKH syndrome. The diagnosis upends her plans to have sex, her presumptions about womanhood and sexuality, her relationship with her mother (Emily Hampshire), and most importantly, herself. 

Along with Ziegler, “Fitting In” also stars Emily HampshireDjouliet AmaraKi Griffith, “Reservation Dogs” star D’Pharoah Woon-A-Tai, and Dale Whibley.  Michael ThierriaultChristian Rose, and Dennis Andres round out the main cast.  

Molly McGlynn writes and directs “Fitting In,” which had its world premiere at SXSW earlier this year under the title “Bloody Hell.” The film also screened at TIFF and various other Canadian film festivals this Fall under its current title.  

“Fitting In” has very strong reviews from critics after its festival run, so pay attention when it hits theaters everywhere on February 3, 2024. Watch a trailer for the film below.
