Halle Berry Is Looking For Some 'Higher Learning' (On TV)

In case you haven’t heard, television is where it’s at these days in terms of diverse, ambitious and complex material and we don’t need to run down the myriad of stars and shows that have gravitated to the small screen format (in fact, we did a feature about it which you can read right here if you want to know where to start). So no big surprise that another big star is looking to go serial.

Deadline reports that Halle Berry is attached to star in “Higher Learning,” a spec script that is now making the rounds to various cable networks including HBO and Showtime. Penned by TV veteran Lee Rose, details are scarce right now but the project would find Berry playing a college professor. No word if it was anything to do with John Singleton‘s film of the same name which chronicled racial tensions on campus, but it looks to be in similar territory.

Anyway, this one is in early stages so it will be while yet before it picks up steam. Until then, Berry will be busy with the Wachowskis on their massive adaptation of David Mitchell‘s “Cloud Atlas.”
