Judging by the end of “Halloween Ends,” it would appear the franchise is dead. But we know how horror works and death is merely an inconvenience and not something that is set in stone. So, with that being the case, we can only assume more “Halloween” is on the horizon. And if that’s happening, then will Jamie Lee Curtis return to Haddonfield? Well, maybe.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Jamie Lee Curtis was asked if she’d ever return to the world of “Halloween.” Folks may remember that her last appearance in the franchise included her killing Michael Myers and finishing her character arc seemingly once and for all. But again, this is horror, right? Curtis seems to understand that very well.
“I have hung up my bell-bottoms and my pale blue button-down shirt, and I have relinquished [Laurie] to the ages with a warm, ‘aloha,’ and a thanks for all the years and memories,” Curtis said. “And yet, if I’ve learned anything in my 65 years on the planet, it’s never say never.”

Fans of “Halloween” would probably point out that this wouldn’t be the first time that Jamie Lee Curtis returned to the franchise, disregarding what came before. 2018’s “Halloween” erased the various sequels from the timeline and featured Curtis returning as Laurie Strode. This comes after the fact that she was killed off in an earlier film. All that to say, if the studio wants “Halloween” to return and would like to include Curtis in the franchise, then perhaps it could happen. The actor is seemingly open to the idea.
Of course, for any of this to happen, we would need a new “Halloween” project. And as of now, it doesn’t seem like anything is close to filming. And again, because of the ending of “Halloween Ends,” you have to assume that a full-on reboot would be in the works. We’ll just have to wait and see.
