'He Dreams Of Giants' Trailer: Terry Gilliam's 'Don Quixote' Quest Ends In 'Lost In La Mancha' Sequel Doc

After decades of behind-the-scenes issues, Terry Gilliam was able to film and release his long-awaited, “The Man Who Killed Don Quixote,” in 2018. And like most things that have been hyped up for 25 years, the film was perfectly fine, if not a little disappointing. As seen in the trailer for “He Dreams of Giants,” the makers of the acclaimed documentary, “Lost in La Mancha,” have returned to finish the story they were telling in the 2002 film. For those not aware, Gilliam had been trying to get ‘Don Quixote’ made for 25 years and the feature came really close to happening but was shut down decades ago. However, the behind-the-scenes documentary, “Lost in La Mancha,” was able to capture the drama and heartbreak of Gilliam as he watched his film fall apart and it became a fascinating encapsulation of the ‘Don Quixote’ saga back in the early ‘00s. But that was 20 years ago. And now, ‘Don Quixote’ has been released, which means there’s more documentary to be seen.

“He Dreams of Giants” picks up with the latest attempt to bring ‘Don Quixote’ to the big screen, as Gilliam fights health battles and a variety of new barriers that popped up in his quest to tell the story he was trying to tell for a large part of his life. And obviously, this time the story ends with a bit of a triumph, as the film does get produced and released.
