How many trailers do you really need for a TV show? Well, in the case of Amazon’s upcoming “Hunters,” the answer appears to be three trailers and one teaser. Normally, this would be seen as potential overkill, as a TV series likely doesn’t need that much hype. However, when you have Al Pacino starring in a series produced by Jordan Peele, Amazon really, really wants people to know it’s coming.

And since we are on the precipice of the year’s biggest TV event, the Super Bowl, Amazon has taken it upon itself to promote perhaps its biggest 2020 TV series, “Hunters,” during that sports showcase. “Hunters” follows a young man that seeks revenge after the brutal murder of his grandmother. He does this by joining up with a group of Nazi hunters in ‘70s New York City that believe his grandmother was killed as retaliation, not just randomly. This group of hunters believes that the Nazis that have escaped Germany are living amongst Americans and secretly planning a new war.
The series stars Pacino alongside Logan Lerman, Josh Radnor, Kate Mulvany, Tiffany Boone, Dylan Baker, and Lena Olin. As mentioned, “Hunters” is executive produced by Jordan Peele. Also of interest, “The Current War” filmmaker Alfonso Gomez-Rejon directs the pilot episode of the series.
“Hunters” arrives on Amazon Prime Video on February 21.
Here’s the synopsis:
Inspired by true events, HUNTERS follows a diverse band of Nazi Hunters in 1977 New York City who discover that hundreds of escaped Nazis are living in America. And so, they do what any bad-ass vigilante squad would do: they set out on a bloody quest for revenge and justice. But they soon discover a far-reaching conspiracy and must race against time to thwart the Nazis’ new genocidal plans.
