Got a Tip?

‘Fleabag’ Creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge Bringing Spy Series ‘Killing Eve’ To BBC America

BBC America is emerging as one of the networks making some very original and different series. “Orphan Black” has been a mainstay on the channel, and has a dedicated fanbase and a good amount of critical acclaim. “Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency” hasn’t been around very long, but most definitely falls under that aforementioned “different” category. Now, BBC America is gearing up production on another series titled “Killing Eve.”

“Killing Eve” is based on a series of novellas by Luke Jennings, and tells the story of a psychopathic assassin and the woman hunting her down. The series is being spearheaded by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, who’s lead-writing and co-executive producing the series. Waller-Bridge is perhaps best known for “Fleabag,” which has been a hit on BBC and Amazon, and she has a mo-cap role in the upcoming Han Solo “Star Wars” spinoff.

No word on any projected release date for “Killing Eve,” but we do know that veteran TV actress Sandra Oh is set to star. It’s an interesting gear shift for Waller-Bridge, and we’re curious to see how it all turns out.
