A few one sheets from overseas for your eyeballs, so get ready to have your face one-sheeted….
“World War Z” is a movie with a lot to prove after its very public struggles to achieve a finished product everyone was happy with. But so far, surprisingly, nothing in the advertising has stood out as weak. The trailer isn’t groundbreaking, but it delivers on the film’s epic, disaster movie premise, with Brad Pitt kicking it into high gear to save Mireille Enos, his children, and the rest of the world from a global crisis. And while the US poster was striking enough, the less-exciting international IMAX poster shows Pitt looking down from a helicopter at the ravaged world below. Look for this in theaters June 21st. The international poster for Richard Linklater’s “Before Midnight” may look like another romantic European jaunt — but according to our review, the third in the series after “Before Sunrise” and “Before Sunset” finds Julie Delpy and Ethan Hawke’s characters as a couple in their 40s facing the difficult realities of love after so many years. While their problems in mid-life may be trifling compared to the characters in “Amour,” expect a challenging picture with less canoodling than the poster suggests. For now, check out the trailer and wait patiently for the May 24th release. [Flicks And Bits]
The international poster for “Iron Man 3” is nothing but a collage of three previous character posters for Gwyneth Paltrow’s Pepper Potts, Don Cheadle’s Iron Patriot and Guy Pearce’s geneticist Aldrich Killian. Nothing too exciting to comment on in the visual department — except that again, the central image in which Pepper holds Tony Stark’s cracked helmet like a vestige of someone lost emphasizes how imperiled Robert Downey Jr. will be in the face of Ben Kingsley’s Mandarin. Look for the third ‘Iron Man’ installment and the first by director Shane Black May 3rd. And if you haven’t seen it already, check out the trailer here. [Collider]
