If we’ve said it once, we’ve said it a million times, teens in horror films are actually idiots. They’re forever just mucking around in business they shouldn’t. And you know what, sometimes that ends with a mythological demon spirit attaching itself to your soul, leaving it up to your friend to try to save you. At least, that’s what happens in “It Lives Inside.”

As seen in the trailer for “It Lives Inside,” the horror film focuses on the story of former friends who must come together to help vanquish an evil spirit that has latched itself to one of them. You see, the one who finds herself in the predicament didn’t necessarily believe the warnings about the demon spirit from their Indian culture, but it’s real and it lived inside a jar. Now, the other friend, someone who has attempted to reject her culture to help better fit in with her classmates, has to come to terms with her heritage to help rescue her friend from the clutches of a demon. Again, teens are just the worst, sometimes.
The film is written and directed by Bishal Dutta. “It Lives Inside” marks the filmmaker’s feature directorial debut. Megan Suri, Neeru Bajwa, Mohana Krishnan, Vik Sahay, Gage Marsh, Beatrice Kitsos, and Betty Gabriel star in the horror film.
“It Lives Inside” arrives in theaters on September 22. You can watch the new trailer below.
