“It Sucked”: Arnold Schwarzenegger Makes His Feelings About ‘Terminator Salvation’ Crystal Clear

Let’s face it, once James Cameron left “The Terminator” franchise, the series was never the same. “Terminator 3: Rise Of The Machines” was a forgettable retread, while the non-Arnie “Terminator Salvation” is mostly remembered for that time Christian Bale lost his shit on set, and also for not being very good. Those two movies are a big reason why there is much trepidation about “Terminator Genisys,” even with Ahnuld returning and Cameron being somewhat tangentially involved in conversations about the project early on (as far back as when Justin Lin was going to direct, plus he also explained last fall how a Terminator could age). But what does the actor who has lived and breathed the franchise for decades think about each installment? Well, he made his feelings very clear on a recent “Good Morning America” segment.

“I think the three that I was in, they all had their little personalities and interesting storylines,” he said. But what about the fourth movie?

“Thank God,” he said about not appearing in the McG-directed movie. “It sucked.”

Meanwhile, ‘Genisys’ is confirmed to be the start of a new trilogy (well, depending on how things work out at the box office anyway), but Arnold Schwarzenegger is optimistic. “They paid a lot of attention to make this movie really work, to make this movie really go through the roof, because then, there’s a reason to do two more.”

‘Genisys’ resets on July 1st. Watch the interview below.
