Jack White Disavows Bond Theme In Coke Zero Commercial

The new Bond theme for “Quantum of Solace,” (titled “Another Way To Die”) written by White Stripes frontman Jack White and R&B singer Alicia Keys, was used recently in a Coke Zero advertisement and White wants to wash his hands the shameless cross-promotion stunt. His management released this statement: “Jack White was commissioned by Sony Pictures to write a theme song for the James Bond film “Quantum of Solace,” not for Coca-Cola.” White already wrote a song for Coca Cola back in the day (“What Goes Around Comes Around“), but obviously it was with his consent and was his intent. This subterfuge is something he’s not down with, but the damage may already be done. The clips are below.
