This certainly isn't your grandma's Oz. With James Franco, 3D and a bunch of monkeys, the yellow brick road has been redone, for better or worse, in Sam Raimi's upcoming "Oz The Great And Powerful." Whether or not it all comes together remains to be seen, but if anything, it should look spectacular.
Franco leads the movie as the titular Oz, a magician who suddenly finds himself plonked in Oz, where he is mistaken for the next King of Emerald City. He'll cross paths with the evil witches Theodora (Mila Kunis) and Evanora (Rachel Weisz), get some help from Glinda The Good Witch (Michelle Williams), look out for the little China Doll (Joey King) whose kingdom has been smashed to pieces, and apparently hang with monkeys from "Dunston Checks In."
"Oz The Great And Powerful" lands on March 8, 2013. [HeyUGuys]
