This times are a changin’ in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This summer will see "Captain America: Civil War" divide The Avengers and start bringing new characters into the mix, like Spider-Man and The Black Panther. And with solo movies for each character on deck, plus "Doctor Strange" and the "Ant-Man" sequel on the way, it’s a changing of the guard over at Marvel. And thus, it’s not a surprise that one of the old school baddies is moving on.
Chatting with The Daily Beast, Tom Hiddleston revealed the end is in sight for Loki. “ ‘Thor 3’ will be cool because I’ve not done it for four years. I love working with Chris [Hemsworth]. This will be my last time out of the gate,” the actor said. So, prepare to say goodbye to the villain. But maybe he’ll poke his head into "Avengers: Infinity War"?
“I don’t know! Honestly, I don’t know,” Hiddleston said. “They haven’t got their ducks in a row yet. They make it up as they go along.” Zing.
Meanwhile, James Gunn is busy at work on "Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2," but took some time out of shooting to do a Q&A with fans on Facebook. And before even filming is wrapped on the sequel, he’s already being asked if he’ll do a third, and Gunn admits he may be ready to move on after two big Marvel movies.
“Right now I really am just concerned with doing ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.’ I’m not sure what I’m going to do after this… Marvel has talked to me about continuing on. I’m not sure if that’s what I want to do or if that’s not what I want to do. I really just want to make ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’ the greatest possible movie that I can, and something that’s as honest and sincere and true as it can possibly be,” he said. So, maybe let’s just let him finish the movie he’s doing.
‘Guardians 2’ opens on May 5, 2017, and "Thor: Ragnarok" arrives on November 3, 2017. Watch Gunn’s Q&A below.
