With Charlize Theron already attached, the project has now added James McAvoyKurt Johnstad (both "300" movies, "Act Of Valor") adapted the graphic novel by Antony Johnston, and the story is set just before the fall of the Berlin Wall and follows a super spy who springs into action when an MI6 agent is killed. Theron has the lead role as the spy, and while there’s no word yet on McAvoy’s part, things are now moving right along, with the Focus Features project slated to start shooting in November.

While Cold War movies are old hat, with Leitch bringing his kind of verve to the genre, and this pair in the lead roles, "The Coldest Day" is promising stuff, so fingers crossed. [Variety]
