Jessica Chastain Reveals Walton Goggins & Steven Zahn Are Part Of Her Tammy Wynette Series

Jessica Chastain is not only one of the best actors working today, she is also one who chooses really interesting projects to work on. Earlier this year, she appeared as Tammy Faye Bakker in the biopic “The Eyes of Tammy Faye,” where she is almost unrecognizable as the infamous televangelist. And according to her social media, it appears Chastain is already jumping into another biopic project, her long-in-development “George and Tammy” series, which has an even more exciting cast than we initially realized.

As the title implies, “George and Tammy” is a new limited series that tells the story of the relationship between music icons Tammy Wynette and George Jones. Previously, it was revealed that Chastain would play Wynette and Michael Shannon would star opposite as Jones. But in a new Instagram post, announcing the beginning of production on the series, Chastain has pulled back the curtain even more to show some new cast members joining the project.

The picture from the set shows Chastain and Shannon joined by none other than Steve Zahn, Walton Goggins, and David Wilson Barnes, who are all set to co-star in the six-episode series. According to Deadline, Zahn, who was recently seen in “The White Lotus,” will star as George Richey, a songwriter from Nashville. It’s unclear who Goggins and Barnes are set to play, but all three men are great actors and add even more excitement to “George and Tammy.”
