With “Reacher” and “Jack Ryan” being very popular shows for Prime Video, many joked that the streamer is geared at attracting dads. Who else would be so interested in muscly men kicking butt? Well, dads rejoice! More “Jack Ryan” is on the way, but not how you might be expecting.
According to Prime Video, John Krasinski is getting ready to jump back into the role of Jack Ryan, but not for a TV show. No, this time it’s for a “Jack Ryan” movie. There are no details about the film, other than it will pick up with where the series ended back in 2023. Joining Krasinski in the new film will be Wendell Pierce and Michael Kelly. The film will be directed by Andrew Bernstein, who directed episodes of the series back in Season 2. The script is written by Aaron Rabin, who served as a writer on Season 4.

Kidding aside about how this is a dad’s dream project, it is pretty exciting for Prime Video. John Krasinski is a very in-demand Hollywood figure. Not only is he the star of various projects, but he’s also a director who has worked on films such as the first two “A Quiet Place” films, as well as this year’s “IF.” Securing him for a feature film is a pretty good “get” for Prime Video.
With “Jack Ryan” making a return, “Reacher” continuing to break viewership records, and “Tomb Raider” gearing up to premiere in the next couple of years, it’s clear that Prime Video is all about I.P.-driven action projects. Gone are the days of “Transparent,” that’s for sure.
No release date has been set for the “Jack Ryan” movie.
