It sure does feel like it’s been a while since we’ve really seen Jonah Hill appear in a meaty role in something, right? Since 2018, the actor has only appeared in two live-action films (“Don’t Worry, He Won’t Get Far On Foot” and “The Beach Bum”) and one series (“Maniac”). But those hoping for a big-time Jonah Hill fix are in luck, as it appears the actor has another limited series on the horizon.

According to Deadline, Jonah Hill is teaming up with writer William Monahan to craft a limited series about the life of Hollywood fixer Sidney Korshak and legendary studio head Lew Wasserman. The series is expected to be epic in scope, with “The Irishman” being named as an example, and tell the story of Korshak, who worked for Wasserman during the early ‘40s as the mogul was revolutionizing the film industry by building the first talent agency that freed actors from their insane studio contracts. At the time, Korshak served as a lawyer that bridged the worlds of organized crime and Hollywood.
Hill is expected to star in the series and produce. Monahan is a screenwriter that is probably best known for his work on scripts for films such as “The Departed,” “Kingdom of Heaven,” and “The Gambler.” He’s also the writer behind the upcoming George Clooney film, “The Tender Bar.”
As mentioned, Hill recently hasn’t been as present in front of the camera as he was early in his career. In 2018, he did write and direct his first feature, “mid90s.” His next film is the upcoming Adam McKay satire, “Don’t Look Up,” which is likely going to hit Netflix at the end of this year.
As for the upcoming untitled limited series, it’s unclear when we might see it arrive on screens. In fact, there’s not even a studio/network attached, but let’s be real, this has “streaming series” written all over it, right?
