Judd Apatow Making Short "Comedy Tribute" Film For Oscar Awards, More Secrets Out Of The Bag

David Poland was just bemoaning that recent Academy Awards secrets were let out of the bag (he likes the surprises and is keeping stuff under his hat too), so he’s probably going to be even more annoyed with today’s news that Judd Apatow has made a short film that will play out during the awards ceremony.
“We’re thrilled to say that our contemporary comedy master Judd Apatow is contributing both a film and live material to that part of the show,” show producers said late yesterday. “Judd was truly a prince to hop on and truly whip up special shooting for it. It’s a big deal.”No details on what the short will be other than a “tribute to comedy,” but presumably, it’ll be something viral-like, shot on the fly ala a Funny or Die clip with the usual Apatow suspects in tow, but live material too? Will Jonah Hill and Russell Brand be banking material for “Get Him To The Greek” like they did at last year’s MTV Awards? Time will tell, meanwhile, stop letting out the cat out of the bag, we don’t want Poland ranting (though he does it so well).
