Karl Urban & His Futuristic Haircut Are Apparently Returning For Vin Diesel's New 'Riddick' Movie

So, has Vin Diesel been too eager to get his next “Riddick” movie off the ground? We’ll leave that for you to decide, but just a few days after hitting his Facebook page with concept art, talk of an R-rating and a 2012 release, that entire post has been removed. Hmm. So just bear that in mind as we get to this next piece of news.

The folks over at Bloody Disgusting are reporting that Karl Urban will be reprising his role of Vaako from “The Chronicles of Riddick” in the new film. This news seems somewhat premature considering that as far as we know, there has been no green light by the folks over at Universal and it all seemed fairly up in the air as of Diesel’s post just a few days ago. We could see the actor reaching out, however, to see if various cast members are around/interested in returning, and yeah, we could see Urban having no problem getting his hair coiffed all over again for another run in Riddick-town. And we didn’t know there was even a synopsis floating, but BD has tracked it down and here’s what it says:

Betrayed by his own kind and left for dead on a desolate planet, Riddick (Diesel) fights for survival against alien predators and becomes more powerful and dangerous than ever before. Soon bounty hunters from throughout the galaxy descend on Riddick only to find themselves pawns in his greater scheme for revenge. With his enemies right where he wants them, Riddick unleashes a vicious attack of vengeance before returning to his home planet of Furya to save it from destruction.

So yeah, that’s pretty vague, but whatever. The other question is whether or not Thandie Newton will come back to work with David Twohy in this installment, which is apparently called “The Chronicles of Riddick: Dead Man Stalking.” Let’s hope that’s a working title. No release date or even a production start yet, but it appears as if the pieces are beginning to get put into place.
