Got a Tip?

Kate Mara Would Also Return To Make Another ‘Fantastic Four’ Movie

There were a lot of things that went wrong with 20th Century Fox and Josh Trank‘s “Fantastic Four,” but the cast wasn’t one of them. No filmmaker could ask for a better quartet of young talent, with Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan, and Jamie Bell doing their best with what was, by all accounts, a pretty terrible situation. And despite a finished product that will go down as one of the worst superhero movies ever, and a fraught experience making the movie, the cast has been pretty chipper about it all, even stating they’d be willing to do another one.

Earlier this month, Teller shared he’d be more than happy to step back into the role of Reed Richards, and now, Mara has also revealed she’d be game for another run at “Fantastic Four.”

“I’d love to be a part of a ‘Fantastic Four’ sequel or whatever they may or may not have in store for us, and I know all the guys feel the same way. We loved working with each other and we would love to actually play these characters in another way, somehow, in the future,” she told IGN. “I have no idea if that’s actually true, if that will happen, but I’d be really happy to do it.”

Her comments are surprising, if only because the word around the campfire was Trank was particularly unkind to Mara during the making of the movie, as she was a studio casting decision he didn’t approve of. But if another “Fantastic Four” happens, it’s probably safe to say he wouldn’t be coming back. Meanwhile, this all must be music to the ears of producer Simon Kinberg, who has been quite clear about his desire to make a sequel and get the property right this time. But we’ll see how this all shakes out as Fox, ever since taking the planned release date for the sequel off the calendar, have remained quiet about what their plans for the franchise might be.
