With the massive success of “Loki” proving that Marvel Studios can make series led by a villain/anti-hero work, combined with the success of “WandaVision,” it makes total sense that Marvel Studios would be developing a new Disney+ series based on one of its most popular villainous characters, Agatha Harkness, from the latter streaming series.

According to Variety, Marvel Studios is teaming up with “WandaVision” head writer, Jac Schaeffer, to spin off the popular Disney+ series with a new show focused on the villain, Agatha Harkness. It’s assumed that Kathryn Hahn will return to play the witch that was last seen getting defeated by Scarlet Witch in the finale of the aforementioned “WandaVision.”

And since, storytelling-wise, it doesn’t make sense to have another season of that series, why not give Hahn’s character the spotlight in a new show? Harkness was easily one of the most popular characters from the series, if not the most popular, with Hahn delivering a really great mix of comedy and mustache-twirling that made Harkness one of the most memorable villains to debut in the MCU in quite some time.

No word yet on what the plot of the Agatha Harkness series will be, but it would be a shame if the series doesn’t take advantage of Hahn’s comedic acumen. We’ll just have to wait and see. As for when the series might go into production, that’s unclear. However, with a spinoff of a popular series and a creator that has plenty of MCU experience already, this seems like the type of project that can get going really quickly.
And just because, here’s the popular song from “WandaVision” that should obviously become the theme song for the Agatha Harkness spinoff:
