With lensing set to gear up soon, Judd Apatow is beginning to pad out the cast of his untitled “Knocked Up” spinoff, which is also known as “This Is Forty.” The film will star Leslie Mann and Paul Rudd, who are reprising their roles Debbie and Pete, in the picture that will follow their relationship five years after the events of the preceding movie. Megan Fox and Albert Brooks are also on aboard and continuing to mix old and new faces, four new names have been announced.

Variety reports that Lena Dunham, Chris O’Dowd, Charlene Yi and Wyatt Russell are all in negotiations to come aboard. Let’s start from the top shall we? Lena Dunham — like it or not — has made a huge wave with her feature “Tiny Furniture” and caught the eye of Apatow a while ago and together they’re developing the comedy seriesGirls” for HBO. O’Dowd is best known across the pond for his role in the Brit comedy “The IT Crowd” but he’s made a big impression with his turn in “Bridesmaids” which surely caught Apatow’s eye. Yi is probably best known…for her role in “Knocked Up” as the blissed out Jodi (which she will reprise here) and Russell is a new face that will be seen in the upcoming “Cowboys & Aliens.”

So who will be doing what? O’Dowd and Dunham will play employees at the record label that Pete now runs (it seems his character has moved up in the world from being a music scout), while Russell will play a hockey player (no idea where that fits in the story just yet). We’re also kind of curious how Jodi reappears since she was just a housemate of Seth Rogen‘s character who is not really connected to Pete and Debbie at all. And in case you forgot, Brooks will play Pete’s Dad, while Fox’s role remains undisclosed.

Filming will begin this summer with the movie now slated for December 21, 2012 release date.
