You’re not going to get much in the way of plot in the new teaser for the live-action “Lilo & Stitch.” In fact, all you’re really getting is a look at the “live-action” version of Stitch. Of course, he’s completely computer-generated and looks almost identical to the animated version. That seems to be the key for Disney—make these live-action films feel incredibly similar to the animated ones. It’s working.
For those who haven’t seen the original film, “Lilo & Stitch” tells the story of a young, lonely girl who finds an alien named Stitch. Together, they bond and redefine what it means to be a family.
The film stars Sydney Elizebeth Agudong, Billy Magnussen, Tia Carrere, Hannah Waddingham, Chris Sanders, Courtney B. Vance, Zach Galifianakis, and Maia Kealoha. “Lilo & Stitch” is directed by Dean Fleischer Camp. The filmmaker made a splash with his first narrative feature, “Marcel the Shell with Shoes On.” And just like so many indie filmmakers of his ilk, a huge studio has snatched him up to make a blockbuster.
The live-action “Lilo & Stitch” is expected to arrive in theaters on May 23, 2025. You can watch the teaser below.
Here’s the synopsis:
