‘Line Of Duty’ Trailer: Aaron Eckhart Answers The Call To Protect And Serve

Aaron Eckhart’s take on Gotham City’s public face of justice turned twisted vigilante with a penchant for murder in “The Dark Knight” often gets overlooked. His Harvey Dent metaphorically spits in the face of the mob who thinks they can strong-arm him and puts his life on the line to put the Joker behind bars. Implied and in-the-flesh flareups of his impulsive ire, however, prove to contribute towards a transformation into Two-Face. In the new film “Line of Duty,” Eckhart plays another law enforcement official fallen from grace who gets something Dent never had: a second chance.

Directed by Steven C. Miller (“Silent Night” & “Marauders”) and written by Jeremy Drysdale, the movie is produced by Myles Nestel, Craig Chapman, and Skip Williamson. Eckhart’s castmates include Jessica Lu (“God Friended Me”), Dina Meyer (“Starship Troopers” & “The Evil Within”), Ben McKenzie (“Gotham”), and Giancarlo Esposito. Courtney Eaton (“Mad Max: Fury Road”) also stars and her character brings the action particularly up-close and personal.

Here’s the synopsis:

Aaron Eckhart (Olympus Has Fallen) stars as Frank Penny, a disgraced cop looking for a shot at redemption. When the police chief’s 11-year-old daughter is abducted, Frank goes rogue to try and save her. But to find the girl, Frank will need the help of Ava Brooks (Courtney Eaton), whose live-streaming news channel is broadcasting Frank’s every move. While a city watches, Frank and Ava race against time in this explosive action-thriller.

“Line of Duty”—distributed by Saban Films—is set to be released in select theaters, on-demand, and in digital on November 15. Check out the trailer below and see one man’s determination to be worthy of the badge he wears.
