Listen: Chuck Klosterman Hosted 90-Minute Talk With ‘Mad Men’ Team Matthew Weiner, Jon Hamm, & More

Mad MenIt’s a little over a week until the premiere of the final batch of “Mad Men” episodes, and to celebrate the occasion, last week the Film Society of Lincoln Center hosted creator Matthew Weiner and some of the cast for a long discussion about the show. Thankfully, for those of us that didn’t have the chance to attend, the Lincoln Center released a podcast version of the discussion.

Titled “Mad Men: The End of an Era,” Chuck Klosterman hosts this week’s episode of the Lincoln Center’s long-running “The Close-Up” podcast, which runs just over 90 minutes. The discussion is anchored by clips from the show chosen by Weiner, Jon HammJanuary JonesChristina Hendricks, and John Slattery. The clip-centered structure allows Weiner and the cast to not only talk about the actual filming of the scenes, but about the nature of the characters, the malleability of identity in America, and how Pete Campbell is the prototypical New York liberal.

The podcast is a great treat for fans of the series and makes for a nice refresher course on what makes it great. Listen below and tune in to see the premiere of the second half of season 7 of “Mad Men” on April 5th.
