Have you ever felt that you could be a better you? Well, this is one series which takes those better elements out of someone and creates an entirely new being to replace them; this is “Living With Yourself.” Paul Rudd, who has played roles such as Scott Lang in “Antman” and Brian Fantana in “Anchorman: The Legend Of Ron Burgundy,” will play alongside himself when his character Miles must battle his better self before he loses all aspects of his life.
The thing with Rudd is that he has always been a funny guy and comedy is one of those things that comes naturally to him. Even in a superhero film like “Antman,” his character plays a bit like the comic relief, he is someone who does not take themselves too seriously. So if you like anything with Rudd in, you’ll probably enjoy this eight-episode series.
He is starring alongside one of the most talented female comedians at the moment, Aisling Bea, who will play Miles’ wife, Kate, in the series. Bea is from Ireland and is well known in the U.K., appearing on British panel shows like “8 Out Of 10 Cats” and “The Last Leg.” She also wrote and starred in her own comedy series “This Way Up” which looks a critical success, garnering an 88% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
But how will Rudd and Bea get on? Well, this could be one of the hit comedies of the year. Rudd is a very respected actor, and Netflix has done well to acquire his services for this series. While for Bea, this can only help her rise as she now expands her portfolio across the pond to try and find success with an American audience, something like James Corden has done.
The series was created by Timothy Greenberg, who won an Emmy Award while with “The Daily Show With Jon Stewart,” and is directed by filmmaking team Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris (“Little Miss Sunshine“). There are roles for Desmin Borges (“Mr. Popper’s Penguins”), Karen Pittman (“Luke Cage”) and Zoe Chao (“Where’d You Go, Bernadette”) will feature in multiple episodes.
