'The Boys' Spinoff About Superhero College Casts Lizze Broadway & Is Close To Landing A Series Order At Amazon

Without a doubt, “The Boys” is one of the biggest series on streaming right now. Clearly, it’s one of the biggest things on Amazon Prime Video. Why else would the platform keep on extending the series for new seasons (the third is in production now) and also green light a spinoff that is about to get a season order? Obviously, Amazon can’t get enough of the Hard-R take on superheroes and the horrors of capitalism.

And according to Variety, it appears that the aforementioned, untitled spinoff of “The Boys” is moving ahead according to plan, with a new castmember being announced and Amazon getting ready to give the show an official season order. While we don’t know much about the specifics of the character, it’s being reported that Lizze Broadway has joined the cast of “The Boys” spinoff series. Broadway will portray the character of Emma, who is a young superhero that joins the all-superhero, corporate-funded college where the show will take place. The series will follow the same over-the-top tone of the original series but show just how cutthroat the competition is at the superhero college where the students are all vying for the very best contracts.

Before signing on for the ‘Boys’ spinoff show, Broadway was seen in series such as “The Rookie,” “Splitting Up Together,” “Here and Now,” “NCIS,” and “Chicago PD.” Clearly, her role in this new superhero show will be her highest-profile role yet and will bring a ton of hype as we see if Amazon can successfully build out its superhero franchise.

As mentioned, “The Boys” tells the story of a world where superheroes exist but they’re not the bright, shiny, heroic kind in the Marvel films. No, in this series, they’re greedy, fame-hungry lunatics that will do anything possible to become the biggest hero around, even if it means killing. Season 3 of the flagship series is filming now, and it’s likely the new episodes will premiere sometime later this year.
