Awards season got into gear on Monday night as the Gotham Awards returned to an in-person ceremony for the first time in two years. And it was a massive night for Netflix as Maggie Gyllenhaal’s “The Lost Daughter” took Best Feature, Breakthrough Director, Best Screenplay and tied for Outstanding Performance (Olivia Colman). That’s a big award season win for the streamer as only one Gotham’s Best Feature winner over the previous seven years hasn’t been Oscar-nominated for Best Picture (“The RIder”).

The evening featured a number of major tributes including Kristen Stewart and Peter Dinklage earning the Performer Tributes, Jane Campion landing the Director Tribute, Magnolia Pictures co-founder Eamonn Bowles receiving the Industry Tribute, and the cast of “The Harder They Fall” taking the Ensemble Tribute. The Icon Tribute was awarded to filmmaker Kathleen Collins posthumously.
The star-filled three-hour-plus ceremony saw “Drive My Car” win International Feature, “Flee” win Documentary Feature, “Squid Game” win Breakthrough Series (Long Format), and “Reservation Dogs” take Breakthrough Series (Short Format). Apple’s “Coda” won Breakthrough Performance (Emilia Jones) and surprised taking Supporting Performance (Troy Kotsur).
