“Mandy” is one of those films that comes once every few years that sneaks up on film fans and hits them over the head like a baseball bat of awesomeness. Utilizing all manic unpredictability of Nicolas Cage to its fullest potential, “Mandy” is less a film as it is an overall experience, akin to the scariest haunted houses that you’re visiting on Halloween.
And in honor of this week’s home video release of the batshit crazy horror film, we’re happy to offer readers the chance to win a copy of the film on Blu-ray. For those not familiar with “Mandy,” the film tells the story of a man who has to rescue the titular woman from a nightmarish cult and its insane leader. It’s scary at times, thrilling overall, and incredibly bloody. Director Panos Cosmatos pulls out all the stops and delivers a film unlike anything you’ll see this year. It also features the final score from acclaimed composer Jóhann Jóhannsson and is worth watching the film for alone.
To win a copy, all you have to do is follow us on Facebook and Twitter, tweet: “I want to win the ‘Mandy’ Blu-ray from @ThePlaylist. #WinThePlaylistContest,” and include the URL of this story. Your final step: just email us your tweet to [email protected], with your full name and address, and tell us the name of your favorite Nic Cage film (think carefully, as there’s a hell of a lot to choose from).
For those that just want to buy their own copy, “Mandy” is available now on VOD, DVD, & Blu-Ray.
Here’s the synopsis for the film:
