Marketing Team Behind ‘The Road’ Deserves Raise? ‘Nowhere Boy’ To Premiere At London Film Festival, New ‘Antichrist’ Poster

A new poster for John Hillcoat’s “The Road” has been, errr… sorta premiered. A bit odd but, either the image has been cut off (likely) taking out the head of its lead, Viggo Mortensen, or the studio thinks Kodi Smit-McPhee’s unknown mug alone will be able to sell this already mis-marketed picture. Sam Taylor-Wood’s “Nowhere Boy” — the story of John Lennon’s early days starring Aaron Johnson — will close this year’s BFI London Film Festival which will be opened by Wes Anderson’s “The Fantastic Mr. Fox.” [Empire]

Lars Von Trier’s Cannes controversy-maker “Antichrist,” starring William Dafoe and Charlotte Gainsbourg, has a new poster. Even though it’s just a montage of two previously released images, it looks perfectly creepy. [AwardsDaily]

Shocker: Eric Bana has ruled out any more future appearances in both the “Star Trek” and “Hulk” franchises. On his character Nero from JJ Abrams’ franchise rebooter, Bana noted “I think I’ve been taken care of in the movie. I mean, you saw what happened to Nero, so I doubt it,” while on a possible return as the green machine, Bana added: “It’s just something that I’ve done and I’m moving forward. My road panned out different and I’m happy with the road I’m on.” [ComingSoon]

A Zoe Saldana-centric poster for James Cameron’s “Avatar” has been unveiled. We actually thought it was a fake – looks a bit novel? [LatinoReview]

Anne Thompson has begun a new blogging career over at Indiewire. Congrats. [ThompsonOnHollywood]

Brandon Routh recently discussed Sam Raimi’s proposed “World Of Warcraft” film at Comic-Con. “My friends at Legendary [Pictures] are working on that. I’m looking forward to what’s going to happen with that.” Further, when asked whether he’s hoping for a part in it, Routh added: “You know, you [the audience] might get a little action, a little sword-fighting, that’d be a lot of fun.” Hmmm, it’s all a bit dubious but could Routh be hinting at Raimi baiting the geeks OR winking at camera that he knows more than he’s leading? New images of “Iron Man 2” have surfaced. We haven’t really been keeping up here because we just don’t feel like doing the blanket coverage, but a few updates: Jon Favreau has been discussing the possibility of 3D and Imax for future installments (yes, “Iron Man 3,” is a real possibility). This image is apparently of Marvel head Kevin Feige though we couldn’t point him out in a line-up, so we’ll have to trust Splashpage here.
